There are a lot of reviews out there about which sportsbook is the best, and while I believe reviews have a place and can be extremely valuable it is hard to find an honest no hidden agenda assessment these days.

The reality is, there is no best sportsbook; what one player or reviewer considers important can be utterly unimportant to someone else. Now, there are some things that are considered must haves for a sportsbook to be on the short list of any player, like not be a scam, which I think we can all agree is paramount.

In simple terms, the difference in determining what constitutes the best sportsbook of 2016 for me as opposed to you, revolves in what each one of us is looking for. If you are a high roller you wonít be interested in a book that has low limits, regardless of how well they perform in all other aspects. Players who enjoy wagering on both sports and casino might not be impressed with a stellar sportsbook that has a very rudimentary casino platform. Or one who has a great casino but a limited offer in sports. Same goes for poker players and horse racing fans. Determining which is the best sportsbook of the year is a very subjective thing.

In the spirit of honesty, I will disclose what I look for in a sportsbook, letís see how many of you agree with me.

  1. I am not a high roller, but I hate the idea of being limited to $100 per wager, so I need a place that can accept me for the gambler that I amÖ sometimes I will bet $10 and then some days when I am particularly optimistic and feel lucky I will bet $300 or even $500. I need flexibility in my wagering limits.
  2. I like the ponies, so I look for a book that offers all the major tracks and that has a simple and fair interface, I hate when I know Iíve placed the bet with plenty of time and the system is off so my wager gets graded as a past post.
  3. I want banking options, I realize Iím from the US and that there are restrictions and what not, but donít limit me to a deposit method that is not available 24/7.
  4. I like speaking to someone who gets it, Iím not as interested in accents (although being able to understand the person on the other end of the phone is key) as I am into speaking with someone who understand where Iím coming from and is willing to help resolve my issues.
  5. I want to get paid when I need to get paid. Iím not asking to get a 3:00 am western union, but if Iím requesting a payout is because I need or want my money in the next 24 hours.
  6. I am a person who gambles, and people who gamble need to keep gambling, so give me something to bet on during the off season, the more sports and betting options I have the happier I will be.

So there are several books that meet my criteria, and I have accounts in various places because itís never good to keep all your bets in one place, but the one place I prefer because it has a little extra something that I canít explain is AceSportsbook.com. If you havenít already, go try them out and let me know if you like them as much as I do.
