The post position has won in six of eighty-five starts with one win since 1999.

Mike Maker (trainer) – “I’m pleased, obviously. It’s better than the one-hole that we drew a couple of years ago. No complaints.”

Oscar Nominated was the winner of the Spiral Stakes, his only graded race.

The Spiral Stakes win did mark Oscar Nominated's second win in a row and third career victory, with two seconds, in seven starts.

"Looking at him on paper, it looked like he really fit in with this bunch, and we had a lot of confidence in him," said Hernandez, who won his second consecutive start and third in seven. "He handled the mile and an eighth really well today. It's just like everything else; he'll be answering the question of a mile and a quarter for the first time."
