There is plenty to like in this week’s Tigers-Indians series in our opinion.

The OVER is 21-5 in the last 26 meetings in Cleveland coming into Tuesday with the last four meetings there going OVER 8 runs.  The OVER is 25-11-1 in Cleveland's last 37 home games and is 42-20-4 in DET last 66 road games.

Though Detroit is 21-8 in the last 29 meetings in Cleveland, they are just 1-6 in the last 7 meetings while the Tigers are 0-4 in Justin Verlander’s last 4 starts vs. Indians.

Tuesday - Verlander (2-2, 5.46 ERA) got the victory in his last start against Oakland on Wednesday but allowed a sixth homer in five outings.  Marlon Byrd was batting .295 with two home runs and eight RBI during the month of April.  He’s gotten a bit cold in recent days but is 6-for-13 against Verlander with a home run.  Jose Ramirez is 4-for-12 against Verlander and has been averaging .417 over the past seven days.  This is not good for the Tigers starter.  Then there is Carlos Santana averaging .389 over the past seven days.  He has 7 home runs in 56 at bats against Verlander.

Ian Kinsler is 6 in 17 at bats against Josh Tomlin.  Miguel Cabrera is 5-for-15 versus Tomlin with one home run.  He is averaging .387 over the last seven days.

Detroit LF Justin Upton is 8-for-17 with one homer, four RBIs and four runs scoring during his four-game hitting streak after going 1-for-16 in his previous five contests.

Take the OVER 8 Here

Wednesday - Corey Kluber turned in a second straight quality start for Cleveland the other day but has allowed 49 hits off of 152 at bats against the current Tigers roster.  He allowed just one run in eight innings against them on April 23.  Don't expect another performance like that one.

Anibal Sanchez gave up two runs on three hits and seven walks while striking out nine over 5.2 innings in a win over the A's on Thursday but gave up 7 runs to Cleveland on the 23rd.  You can take the OVER even if at 8.5.

Thursday - Trevor Bauer has allowed 30 hits on 98 at bats against Detroit batters.  The 25-year-old received his first start of the season due to Carlos Carrasco's hamstring injury, and did not last past four innings.  Bauer issued multiple free passes for the second time in the last three appearances.  We anticipated Michael Fulmer giving up more than just the two runs he allowed in five innings versus Minnesota.  We will take the OVER if 8.5 or less but no higher than 9. The total on Fulmer's first game of the season against Minnesota was set at 8.5, on the high end of the Tigers-Twins series.
