More Online Tournament Players are turning to Americas Cardroom

On April 24th, 2016 we (Americas Cardroom) finally achieved what many people said was impossible for a US facing site.  On our 8th running of our $1,000,000 GTD Million Dollar Sundays tournament, we finally attracted enough players to meet the guarantee with 2,118 entrants and a $1,059,000 prize pool.

The first seven times we ran the tournament, the prize pool fell short, overlaying a combined total of over $1,000,000.  While this was disheartening (and expensive) at times, we stuck to it knowing that there was still a huge demand for big prize pool online poker tournaments, in particular from players from the United States.

There are a lot of reasons we had enough players to cover the guarantee this time around.  Over the past year and a half we’ve worked tirelessly to improve our regular tournament schedule, online tournament series, and software to make our overall tournament offering more appealing. And players have started to take notice.

Our regular multi-table tournament schedule is now bigger than ever before.  Monday to Saturday we’ve added a variety of “themed” days in order to accommodate all types of players and bankrolls.  From micro-stakes to high stakes, from deep structure to turbos, there is literally something for everyone.

Our Sundays have become a “must play” day for anyone looking for a chance to score big (especially players hailing from the United States).  We offer the biggest weekly Sunday major ($115k GTD Sunday Special) of any of the US facing sites, surrounded by an array of big prize pool tournaments including 2-$50,000 GTDs, 2-$20,000 GTDs, and a $25,000 GTD.

Our new Tournament User Interface launched in early April. It has a lot of bells and whistles tournament players will find extremely useful, including a new feature never seen before in the history of online poker.

Our Progressive Payouts pays players progressively into their account as soon as the money bubble bursts in a tournament.  Players no longer have to wait until they are eliminated (or win) to get paid.  This frees up funds so they don’t have to miss events while waiting for money already won.

Some of the many other features of this latest release include On-Table Tournament Statistics Display, Synchronized Breaks, Hand for Hand Dealing, and On-Table In-the-Money Symbols.

We’ve now hosted 3 successful tournament series this year, including our $150,000 free-to-enter Freebuy Super Series, $840,000 High Five Series, and $2.5 Million GTD Online Super Series.  The next High Five Series is slated for this summer with dates to be announced soon.

If you haven’t had a chance to see all we’re offering for tournament players, be sure to check us out.  With our current rate of growth, the best is yet to come.
