A grand jury has indicted troubled NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel, it was reported by Dallas KRLD-AM late Sunday.
The 23-year-old quarterback is accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley several times back in July of last year upon returning from an uptown Dallas bar. Manziel is indicted on a misdemeanor assault with bodily injury charge.
The quarterback was released by the Cleveland Browns after a series of improprieties that included a gambling excursion in Las Vegas the night before the Browns final regular season game.
On April 19, 2016, Manziel’s agent Drew Rosenhaus terminated him as a client, marking the first time in Rosenhaus' 27-year career he fired an NFL player. He lost his Nike endorsement that same day.
Oddsmakers did have Manziel as a favorite to land next in Dallas, though these odds were currently not available as the books reassess this situation.
