36-year-old Los Angeles-based poker pro David “Chino” Rheem has won the 2016 World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Main Event, much to the chagrin of many in the poker community.

To put it mildly, Rheem is loathed by many.

An entire thread, begun in 2011 and still going strong today, has been devoted to Rheem on the popular message board Two Plus Two.  It’s title: “Chino Rheem SCUM part two (more scams) It’s going on 120 pages.

Rheem is accused by fellow poker players of failing to pay back on fronted loans to play in tournaments, claiming to be broke.  At the time, Rheem had won $4.1 million over the previous three year period.

This week’s big win paid a cool $705,885.
