Lackey (2-0, 5.68 and priced at $8500) struck out seven over 6.2 innings Wednesday against the Reds, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks in a 9-2 win. (Wed Apr 13).

As an average pitcher at best, his price is a tad too high especially playing in a Monday night game against the Cards where batters are expected to light things up.

Four of the last six games played in St. Louis have resulted in 10 runs or better.

While both Matt Holliday and Stephen Piscotty both hit right-handed pitchers at a well above average rate, Holliday is 0-for-7 against Lackey to date.

Piscotty may present a good play in Monday night’s limited slate of games.

HOT TRENDS:

*Seven of the last ten games in the Cardinals-Cubs series had gone OVER 8.5.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
