Fast Company: How FanDuel CEO is Fighting Back Against Detractors

One of the best magazines on the planet, Fast Company, features an interview with FanDuel CEO Nigel Eccles in which he insists that his company will survive the regulatory pressure and government skepticism that has plagued the Daily Fantasy Sports sector for the past six months.

When New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman in particular announced last October that his office would go after DFS firms, FanDuel executives were shocked by his hostility.

Schneiderman, who has also led the charge against GOP frontrunner Donald Trump and his now defunct Trump University over fraud allegations, called FanDuel and its top competitor in the space DraftKings, “leaders of a massive, multibillion-dollar scheme intended to evade the law and fleece sports fans across the country."

From Fast Company:

Eccles insists that FanDuel has been "twisted and mischaracterized" and that his company operates with integrity. FanDuel has a "good moral compass," he says—nothing like the unscrupulous gambling ring you’ve read about in the news. "The game is an evolution of seasonal fantasy sports, which has been considered legal for 50 years," he says. At the same time, he adds, "It shouldn’t be a nonregulated free-for-all. There is no multibillion-dollar unregulated industry; we needed to become regulated."
