Sunday’s NFC Championship game between the Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers certainly favors the Panthers due to the weather conditions though the Cardinals organization insists they are “not afraid to play in the cold”.

Snow and icy conditions may have paralyzed the Charlotte region in recent days, even shutting down the international airport, the nation’s eighth busiest.

"Sunday is going to be 37, wind about six miles an hour," Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said ahead of Sunday’s game. "You couldn't ask for better than that in Charlotte.

"I think the playoffs, at this time of year, you have to expect some weather. I feel bad because our fans aren't going to be able to get there, supposedly because of flights getting canceled. We have some great fans that travel with us and you hope they'll be able to get in town for the game."

While conditions were set to improve in time for Sunday’s Championship game with temperatures in the mid to upper 30’s, it will still be much colder than what the Cardinals are used to.

Still, under Arians, Arizona has managed to go 2-2 in games played in temperatures under 50 degrees.  Three of those games were played in 2013 in Philadelphia, Tennessee and Seattle.  One of the losses came in Pittsburgh (13-25) back in October of this season where temperatures hovered in the mid-40’s.
