Vijay Singh's odds to win the 2009 US Masters Golf Tournament were listed at +6000 for a payout potential of $6000 on every $100 bet at Sportsinteraction.com - Click Here.  Those betting outside the US could get odds on Singh winning at 66/1 at Sportingbet.com.  By comparison, some online bookmakers were listing Vijay Singh at 40/1 or +4000 odds.

"Singh is one of those golfers whose odds vary greatly between online bookmakers," Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com points out.  "A $500 bet on Singh to win the 2009 US Open would pay only $20,000 at some online gambling sites whereas that win would pay out $30,000 at Sportsinteraction.com.  Not that $20,000 is a bad payout.  It's just that you can get an additional $10,000 by betting at Sports Interaction."

Nicknamed "The Big Fijian", is a Fijian professional golfer who was number one in the Official World Golf Rankings for 32 weeks in 2004 and 2005. He has won three major championships (The Masters in 2000 and the PGA Championship in 1998 and 2004) and was the leading PGA Tour money winner in 2003, 2004 and 2008. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2006. He won the FedEx Cup in 2008.

Singh's stock (and odds of winning the 2009 US Masters) dropped significantly this past weekend when he failed to make the cut along with the second biggest favorite to win, Phil Mickelson.  Nevertheless, he managed to impress in San Diego on Tuesday.

Vijay Singh scored a hole-in-one from off the water yesterday afternoon, the roar could be heard across the grounds at Augusta, followed by chants of "Vi-Jay! Vi-Jay!"
