They said Tuesday they are accusing Sho Darvish, 26, of running a pool in which people placed ¥10,000 bets on professional baseball games in Japan and the United States in May.  Darvish also participated in the pool and took in wagers totaling ¥9.4 million.

The October 26 arrest came a week after two pitchers with the Yomiuri Giants -- Japan's New York Yankees in terms of popularity and commercial reach -- were found to have gambled on baseball games.
