Inevitably more than half of those betting on the 2009 US Masters will be placing their wagers on the favorite Tiger Woods.  And that's probably a safe bet considering his success over the years.

The trick is finding the best payout odds on Woods.  Since each online sportsbook offers its own number on the Tiger, you can rest assured there will be a decent sized variance in the payouts.

"Nothing crazy since Tiger Woods is going to be a favorite no matter where you look," says Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

Still, it's important to research each of the Gambling911.com endorsed online sportsbooks (all of which have been in business for more than five years) in order to find that best number.

The verdict: betED.com was paying the best odds as of press time Sunday night.  Tiger Woods odds to win the 2009 US Masters at betED.com came in at +250 for a payout potential of $250 on every $100 bet.  Compare that with the low of +175 we found elsewhere for a payout of $175 on every $100 bet.  "Obviously these numbers start to add up," says Shapiro.  "And it's probably best to get down on these odds now before they come in line with other online sportsbooks."

Good advise Don!

To date, Tiger Woods has won four Masters (1997, 2001, 2002, 2005).

Trevor Immelman won last year's US Masters with a score of -8 (280) and became the first winner since Raymond Floyd in 1976 to hold the lead at the end of each of the four days of play.  Tiger Woods finished in second place, three shots back at -5 (283).

This year, Immelman is the +5000 long shot at betED.com.
