A Washington, D.C. resident is suing Maryland Live! Casino for $300,000 after a roulette ball hit him in the face in December 2013.

The complaint itself was filed back in November and amended this week.  Maryland Live! had previously attempted to have the complaint dismissed.

In the suit, the complainant, Leander Stocks, alleges that while he was gambling an “employee operating the device negligently caused the wheel’s hard ball to become airborne and strike (him) just above the left eye at high velocity,” causing a contusion.

Stocks also claims in his complaint that a casino security administered an unknown substance to his eye, causing further discomfort and harm.

“Plaintiff’s reaction to this unwanted touching and unauthorized medical procedure was immediate blurred vision, increased pain and discomfort in the affected area, overwhelming disorientation and pronounced loss of physical coordination,” the lawsuit alleges.
