It’s a perfect time for Francisco Liriano to redeem himself going up against the Philadelphia Phillies.
He’s only permitted the current Phillies roster to bat .136 against him.
Liriano is looking for his second win of the season despite having allowed no more than 2 runs in four of his six starts, with 3 in another. He hasn’t allowed more than 3 hits in four of those starts. And Liriano has pitched 6 or more innings in five of his first six starts.
His only poor start of the season was his last and Philadelphia offers the perfect medicine to forget that 6-run nightmare.
Liriano is priced at $8600 and he should get some consideration this day for one’s daily fantasy roster.
He’s going up against Cole Hamels, who allowed no more than one run in four of his seven starts this season. That includes his last start against the Mets.
Hamels has also enjoyed great success against Pittsburgh, allowing .220 hitting versus the current roster. The three-time All-Star is 2-2 with a 2.76 ERA in seven career starts against the Pirates.
Six of the seven games Hamels have started have not gone OVER 7. Hamels has pitched at least six innings in his last six starts.
The UNDER is 7-1-1 in Liriano’s last 9 road starts vs. a team with a losing record, 10-2-3 in his last 15 starts with 4 days of rest and 13-5-2 in his last 20 starts overall.
The UNDER is 5-1 in Hamels' last 6 starts with the total set at 6.5 or lower, 6-1-3 in his last 10 home starts and 20-7-2 in his last 29 starts vs. National League Central.
The Pirates beat Philadelphia in 6 of 7 games last season and won the first two games of this current season. Pittsburgh has won 8 of the last 10 in this series and are looking for their 5th straight win overall.
