An individual identified only as “Noah” has been shot and is in critical condition.  Gambling911.com can report “Noah” operated a Pay Per Head business out of San Jose, Costa Rica.  The individual’s real name is believed to be "Jason" based on sources close to G911 and he also had some involvement in real estate.  His real last name is being withheld for security reasons.

The 42-year-old U.S. businessman was shot four times outside a restaurant near Paco Commercial Center in San Rafael de Escazú Wednesday morning.  The town, popular with expatriates from the U.S. and Canada, is typically considered a low crime area.

The individual resided in an upscale area of the town, according to the Tico Times.  He was observed getting into his car when two men approached on motorcycles and shot him at least four times in the chest.  The individual was seen carried away by parmedics covered in blood.  Robbery was not believed to be a motive at this time and it was not immediately clear if the individual was directly targeted.

A hospital spokesperson said Thursday morning that “Noah” remained in critical condition.

In a scary turn of events it was revealed that criminals riding motorcycles have shot 45 people dead in just the past year alone according to law enforcement.  Just last week, an individual was assassinated in broad daylight outside a San Jose hospital.

From the Tico Times:

The string of motorcycle-mounted attacks has led OIJ Director Francisco Segura to request new restrictions for motorcycles on the roads, including prohibiting more than one rider on a bike.

In 2014, OIJ received 1,738 complaints of assaults committed by individuals driving motorcycles. So far this year they’ve received 251 complaints.

Costa Rica is home to the largest number of online sportsbooks and Pay Per Head businesses in the world.
