The Lions-Bears line has moved from Detroit -7 to -9 Wednesday night on news that Jimmy Clausen was slated to start in place of beleaguered Jay Cutler.

Monday night’s three interceptions to bring his overall total to 24 appeared to be the final straw for a team that had high hopes of competing in the NFC North entering this NFL season.

Coach Marc Trestman reportedly broke the news to the underperforming and high paid QB.  Cutler is the highest-paid offensive player in the NFL this season at $22.5 million.

"We've seen moments, but we haven't done it on a consistent basis. I can't hide from that," Trestman said of Cutler.

ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen was the first to break the news and the oddsmakers reacted by 8 pm ET Wednesday evening.
