The so-called “King of Instagram” has been arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport for reportedly carrying explosives. The arrest occurred 10 pm PST Tuesday night or 1 am EST while transferring through Customs enroute from the Bahamas.

Bilzerian and a friend were arrested by LAX police using warrants out of Nevada for possessing explosives on public land. Prosecutors say he had been stockpiling an ammonium nitrate mix, with intent to use it as an explosive.
Las Vegas police say the discovery was made after receiving a call of an explosion in Clark County Desert on Nov. 4.
According to the criminal complaint, he is facing charges of possession of an explosive or incendiary device and having components such as, ammonium and aluminum powder, which can be used to make an explosive.
Bilzerian was released from police custody late Wednesday.
