Poker pro Jason Mercier has won the WPT Alpha8 Event in St. Kitts for a whopping $727,500.
The event featured a $100,000 buy-in and only 15 players including Big One For One Drop champs Antonio Esfandiari ad Daniel Colman.
The 24-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Florida tweeted after the event:
I won it! Set a goal to win 3 titles in 2014... Late start winning my first one now. Lot more poker to play this month! Let's go!!!!
This might be his first in 2014 but Mercier has finished 2nd or 3rd in five events this year. He has cashed in 14 events to the tune of just over $3.5 million.
