You can actually bet on the highly anticipated Theo Jorgensen vs. Gus Hansen poker boxing match at betED.com but you gotta hurry as the bout will take place Saturday. It's a fight between two of Denmark's leading poker players that has had the whole poker world talking.
The boxing match will take place in Copenhagen and you can actually purchase a ticket for US$42 or 249.00 DKK (Danish Kroner). Around 3000 people were expected to attend.
The wager: Theo gets $35,000 if he wins, Gus takes $25k for a victory. Word is the fight will be filmed by Hansen's new web tv site that is set to launch the day of the fight.
For those of you at home who would like to bet on this event, the oddsmakers at betED.com have made Jorgensen the -250 favorite while Hansen would pay out $150 for every $100 bet should he win.
While Gus is considered the favorite--he's younger, in better shape, stays active--we hear he has yet to do much training in the ring. Theo on the other hand has reportedly been training for the past year and has hired a professional boxing coach named Poul Duville. From the video, he looks like he needs the help.
Hansen told PokerNews.com he and Theo are good friends but that "We poker players have a different mindset at the table and that may translate well in boxing. We don't want to beat each other to a bloody pulp but if we have to give each other a bloody nose to win, we will. I'm definitely taking my 'A' game but after the fight we will have a drink together... well, the winner will probably want to take the loser for a drink and not the other way around."
