MLB Betting Lines – Free Picks: Reds vs. Cardinals

The Cardinals Justin Masterson is 3-2 when starting against Cincinnati with an ERA of 2.86 and a WHIP of 0.952.

The Angels CJ Wilson is 5-2 when starting against Boston with an ERA of 2.73 and a WHIP of 1.321.

Baltimore's Bud Norris is 0-2 when starting against the White Sox with an ERA of 6.97 and a WHIP of 1.742

Teams

St. Louis is 6-3 vs. Cincinnati this season.

Today’s Pick

Reds/Cardinals UNDER 7.5 -

The Reds RH Mike Leake (9-11, 3.59 ERA) permitted five runs and eight hits in five innings against Boston the other day.  He is, however, 1-1, 1.29 this season, against St. Louis this season including a 4-0 victory in St. Louis on April 9.

Matt Holliday and Matt Adams have enjoyed success against Leake but the price is just a little too high for us if we were to go with St. Louis.

One of the reasons we would even consider it is that the Cardinals RH Justin Masterson (6-7, 5.58) is 3-2 with a 2.86 ERA in five starts against Cincinnati -- including a 5-2 victory May 29, 2013 in the last meeting, but even more importantly the Reds active roster has struggled against him in the past, not to mention they are struggling overall currently.

The Reds are 0-8 in their last 8 games as a road underdog of +110 to +150 with the UNDER 6-2 in Reds last 8 games as an underdog of +110 to +150.

The UNDER is also 6-2 in Cardinals last 8 home games.
