The Tennessee Titans season win total betting odds for 2014 had this AFC South division team at 7 OVER -125, suggesting oddsmakers believe the Titans can win 8 or more games in 2014.

That win total might lead to some optimism, however, we would be remiss in pointing out that Tennessee’s schedule is among the three softest in the league, at least on paper.

BetDSI.com notes that Ken Whisenhunt, who led the Arizona Cardinals to their only Super Bowl bid, will take over as a proven head coach with the credibility of being a winner. Whisenhunt has a daunting task in turning around a Tennessee Titans franchise that has grown stale and mediocre.

The Titans have suffered offensively in recent years as a result of not having a franchise quarterback.  Jake Locker is being given a second chance in 2014 but has yet to prove himself.  Missing a total of 14 games due to injury hasn’t helped matters.

As BetDSI.com notes, the team is hoping that Bishop Sankey can take over the running duties and they have Kendall Wright who is poised for a big year at receiver. The team also had Justin Hunter and they have a reliable tight end in Delanie Walker.

2014 Tennessee Titans Defense: The Tennessee Titans will be going to a 3-4 defense this season. The change doesn’t make much sense as they don’t have great linebackers. They do have Jurrell Casey on the defensive line but not much else. Perhaps the team can get good play out of Zach Brown and Wesley Woodyard at linebacker and they did bring in Shaun Phillips. The secondary is a mess as they are starting Jason McCourty and Blidi Wre-Wilson at the corners.
