Most Miami Heat fans aren't celebrating today after the San Antonio Spurs clobbered them in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to take the championship. But that's not necessarily the case at one popular online sportsbook. SportsBettingOnline.ag today announced that all bets on the Miami Heat to win the championship made during pre-season or the regular season have been refunded.

"After several stunning losses, it's safe to say the Heat just didn't show up at the finals," stated Dave Johnson of SportsBettingOnline.ag. "Before the season began, we tossed up a futures bet on whether the Heat will win the NBA championship once again, based on their last two championship wins in three finals appearances. We know that as the season progressed and the Heat inched towards the finals, sports bettors got pretty excited about the prospect of a threepeat."

With San Antonio winning all but one of five games, Miami fell and put the future of the Big 3 in question. To help soften the blow, SportsBettingOnline.ag has returned all futures bets placed during pre-season and during the regular NBA season. The money has been credited to sports bettors' account. Those who bet on Miami to win Game 5 do not qualify for the refund.  Johnson notes that under normal circumstances, the sportsbook probably wouldn't have returned the losing bet.

"This isn't something we do every day, but with LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh barely showing up to play and only notching one win, sports bettors who backed Miami early deserve to be refunded."

This isn't the first time SportsBettingOnline.ag has refunded players for losing bets. Last month, SportsBettingOnline.ag refunded players who backed the Philadelphia Phillies after LA Dodger Josh Beckett pitched an unexpected no-hitter.  And two years ago, the online sportsbook refunded the Pacquaio-Bradley fight, a controversial boxing match where many believed Pacquaio was unfairly denied a win. SBO also refunded bettors who wagered on Adam Scott to win the British Open. The Australian pro golfer lost after leading by four strokes with just four holes to play.

Paying members cash for losing bets is a common occurrence at SportsBettingOnline.ag. Instead of running unrealistic promotions with ridiculous rollover requirements, SportsBettingOnline.ag features two bonus offers, including a 10% cash back offer, win or lose, with no rollovers. More information on how the online sportsbook refunds players 10% per week plus all other promos can be found at SportsBettingOnline.ag.
