The prize pool for this season’s EPT Sanremo Main Event prize pool has now been announced and it’s a €476,100 prize for the winner – along with a trophy and stunning watch worth more than €5,000 from luxury Swiss brand SLYDE, the Official Watch Sponsor for EPT Season 10 Main Events. There were 556 players creating a €2,480,872 prize pool with 79 players paid.

A total of 51 countries are represented in the Main Event with Italy accounting for more than a quarter of all the players - 153, some 28% of the field. Russians are next with 47 players (8%) and UK close behind with 42 players (also 8%). Perhaps this is Italy's chance of a second EPT champion - the only Italian to win an EPT to date was Salvatore Bonavena who took down EPT Prague in Season 5.

Leading the 316 players for Day 2 was David Yan from New Zealnd with 179,100 chips. The Day 1a chip leader was Cristiano Guerra who had 148,700. EPTLive started today at noon with daily coverage from the Main Event from now until the cards-up final table on April 20 (subject to a 1-hour security delay). Watch it live on Facebook or on PokerStars.tv
