Louisville survived a scare against number 13 seed Manhattan Thursday while St. Louis came from behind by 16 points to win in overtime against North Carolina State by forcing the Wolfpack to the foul line, where they failed to convert in nearly each opportunity.
Oddly enough, despite the St. Louis strategy of sending NC State to the free throw line, neither team could shoot their free throws. NC State went 20-for-37 and Saint Louis went 12-for-26. Not pretty at all.
TJ Warren’s layup with 5:03 remaining in the second half gave NC State a 59-45 lead. The Wolfpack missed 13 free throws and were outscored 38-21 the rest of the way. Rob Loe scored 11 of his team-high 22 points during this stretch.

Power ratings suggest that Louisville should have a line double that which has been posted. Don Best believes the line should be Cardinals -20.
