A citizen of Aruba who killed a young Peruvian woman while attending the Latin American Poker Tour in 2010 will be extradited to the US in 2038.

Joran van der Sloot was charged in the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores after meeting her in a Lima casino.  Van der Sloot, who played online poker under as many as four different screen names, was following the Latin American Poker Tour at the time, though organizers confirmed he was not scheduled to play in any of the events.

Van der Sloot is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence for killing Flores in his hotel room.

Once he completes his sentence, Van der Sloot will be extradited to the United States to face trial on charges he extorted and defrauded the mother of a young American woman, Natalee Holloway, for whose disappearance he is the chief suspect.

Holloway's body was never found, and no charges were filed against Van der Sloot in the case. A judge later declared Holloway dead.

U.S. prosecutors allege Van der Sloot accepted $25,000 in cash from Holloway's family in exchange for a promise to lead a lawyer for the family to her body in early 2010, just before he went to Peru.
