The world’ largest real money online poker site PokerStars is said to be contemplating the addition of a sportsbook.

PokerStars parent company, The Rational Group, issued a statement to PokerFuse.com on Thursday that they are in the process of “exploring opportunities to enter global sports betting markets to enhance our online gaming offerings.”

It’s no secret that poker is widely considered a loss leader and that it is the sportsbook and, even more so, the online casino that generates profit for Web gambling sites.

Stars sister site, Full Tilt Poker, recently added an online casino.
