Move over Ladbrokes, William Hill and Paddy Power.  Here comes some stiff competition from a branding concept we all know, the Guardian Newspaper.  And they just entered the sports betting business with GoWager.co.uk.

If the sports betting website is any indication, the Guardian has a long way to go before it catches up with the aforementioned behemoths in British Web gambling. The site itself is hard to navigate and finding the odds is close to impossible unless you conduct a web search and follow an internal link to the soccer page.

Still, it’s the Guardian and things will surely improve in no time.  They also have access to perhaps one of the biggest customer lists on the planet.

The site was developed by FSB Technologies and is regulated by the UK Gambling Commission.

US gamblers, who became more familiar with The Guardian name over the past year due to its Edward Snowden NSA leaking revelations, are prohibited from playing on GoWager.co.uk.
