With Skrill gone (effective January 31, 2014), sports bettors from the upper portion of North America are wondering how they can still deposit money with online gambling sites from Canada.  Yes folks there are alternatives and who better to guide the way than your good friends here at Alberta-based Gambling911.com.

As a quick note, Gambling911.com was informed directly by Canadian officials that online gambling per se is not illegal in the country (at least as of two years ago).  That said, from time to time, individual provinces have considered ways of quashing the activity.  As such it is important to check sites like Gambling911.com for the latest news on this front.  No specifics were given for the Skrill decision although it comes at a time when they just secured the exclusive rights to process in the state of New Jersey (so feel free to come up with your own assumptions).

Let’s break ‘em down.

EntroPay is an alternative payment processing system similar to Skrill that has started to gain ground of late.

There is a $6 service fee to withdraw to a debit or credit card and there is a $60,000 withdrawal limit within a one month period.  Money can be sent directly to one’s bank account similar to how PayPal works.

EntroPay may not be offered by all online gambling sites, but typically another alternative, Instadebit is.  Customers of Instabet pay a $2 withdrawal fee and a separate bank-incurred Harmonized Sales Tax or HST.

Aside from Entropay and Instadebit, prepaid gift cards offer another method for which to deposit funds into one’s online gambling account.

Wire transfers and checks are another method of withdrawal utilized by most online gambling sites catering to Canadian online gamblers.

Visa credit cards are also utilized by Canadian customers for deposits only.  Withdrawals are via other methods described above.  Typically those depositing via their credit card opt to receive bank wires or checks as payment.

With Skrill’s exit from the Canadian market, gamblers in that country are likely to begin looking more at bitcoin as an option.  BitBM.com currently accepts bitcoin and operates a full service sportsbook while Americas Cardroom becomes the first major online poker network to begin offering the anonymous digital currency as an option.

BetDSI.com now accepts EntroPayBet Hockey, Football and other sporting events LIVE, every play, every minute as the game is happening at BetDSI.com here Also qualify to receive up to $2500 in FREE BETS.
