Following the sacking of Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas this week, bookies have pegged Frank de Boer as the next permanent manager of the football club.  De Boer was coming in at 2/1 odds at most online bookmakers.

The sacking came just a day after Tottenham got shutout by Liverpool 5-0.

A statement from the club read: "The club can announce that agreement has been reached with Head Coach, Andre Villas-Boas, for the termination of his services.  The decision was by mutual consent and in the interests of all parties."

Villas-Boas still had another 18 months of his contract to run.

Other odds offered to replace Villas-Boas included Tim Sherwood at 4/1, Michael Laudrup at between 6/1 and 8/1 odds depending on the book and Glenn Hoddle, also between 6/1 and 8/1 odds depending on the bookmaker.
