The problem with New England covering here is that “the Patriots’ defense will have its hands full trying to defend the Broncos’ attack, and that will put an even greater emphasis on Brady and the offense to step up.

“The Patriots will also need to run the ball more with Stevan Ridley and company in order to control the clock and keep the ball out of Manning’s hands, and avoiding turnovers will be key," Simmons says.

Then there is the fact that Denver is putting up crazy numbers this season.

“"Denver is on pace to set records this year as Manning has been able to spread the ball around to Welker, Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Julius Thomas, and company,” Simmons points out.

“New England will continue to improve as it continues to get healthy, but right now there are simply too many holes to come out on top against a team as talented as the Broncos. Manning will air it out from the outset and spread the ball around to all of his targets, as Denver continues to gain steam with another big win on the road at New England as they move one step closer to locking up the top seed in the AFC.”

Denver’s Wes Welker was listed as probable coming into this game.
