One of the most well-known and successful gamblers of all time, Archie Karas, was extradited from Nevada to California to face charges he cheated a San Diego casino out of more than $8000.  He entered a “Not Guilty” plea on Friday.

The 62-year-old Karas, a high-stakes gambler known for a winning streak from 1992 to 1995 that earned him $40 million, is accused of marking blackjack cards at the Barona Casino.  Prosecutors say the Barona Gaming Commission caught him on surveillance video.  He was arrested at his Las Vegas home.
Prosecutors said Friday that Karas, whose real name is Anargyros Karabourniotis, faces nearly four years in prison if convicted.
