The trial lasted no more than two days and the jury will begin deliberations Wednesday in the case of South Carolina bookmaker Brett Parker.

Parker is already convicted and serving a life sentence for the murder of his wife, Tammy Jo, and one of his employees.

Prosecutors are now attempting to link Parker, his father and another man to the illegal bookmaking operation.  Brett’s father, Jack Parker, and Tivis Sunderland, are the defendants in this case and attending the trial.

The defense spent Tuesday trying to poke holes in the prosecution’s case.

Brett Parker was considered one of South Carolina’s biggest illegal bookmakers.  His murder trial has since been profiled on “Dateline NBC” and a segment is due to air soon on CBS’ “48 Hours Mysteries”.
