The Georgia vs. Clemson betting line for Week 1 of the 2013 College Football season had the Tigers as a +2 in this highly anticipated game.  We also have a few predictions for the outcome of this game below.

Georgia was listed with 12/1 odds of winning the 2014 BCS Championship while Clemson had odds of 22/1.

Georgia is looking for their first conference title since 2005 but, with Alabama still heavily in the mix with no sign of getting demoted from the top of the rankings, Gambling911.com is not about to make a prediction that the Bulldogs will win the SEC, especially with eight new starters at defense.

The experts seem to be unanimous that both Clemson and Florida will be able to defeat Georgia in 2013.

That leaves us with an OVER 9.5 easily and, even with the -145 price tag, this one should be a steal for Georgia (note that this future bet will only be available up to the start of Week 1).

Here are some important betting stats for Georgia vs. Clemson:

Bulldogs are 6-1 Against the Spread in their last 7 games overall.

Tigers are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Georgia is 21-8 Against The Spread vs. ACC opponents since 1992.

GEORGIA is 24-10 ATS in road games in non-conference games since 1992.

David Fox from AthlonSports.com:

The opener against Georgia is a toss-up, but the Bulldogs have a checkered past with some of these high-profile opening games (see: Boise State and Oklahoma State). I like Clemson at home with the Bulldogs missing safety Josh Harvey-Clemons. Hard to believe Clemson hasn’t lost back-to-back games to Florida State in more than a decade, but I’ll take FSU coming off the bye week. The big surprise may be a loss to Georgia Tech, but the Yellow Jackets give Clemson fits, handing the Tigers their first loss of 2011. Paul Johnson is 3-2 against Dabo Swinney, and Clemson has won seven of the last 10 overall.

Clemson has to be considered one of the top-10 teams to have a chance to win the national championship this year. Even though Florida State has plenty of time to reload on both sides of the ball by Oct. 19, I don’t see the Tigers losing in conference play. And if Clemson runs the table in the ACC, it essentially sets up a two-game schedule to stay in the national title picture. With Georgia’s defense breaking in a handful of new starters, the Tigers are playing the Bulldogs at the right time in the season opener. However, Clemson has lost four straight to South Carolina, and I think the Gamecocks make it five in a row in 2013.

Clemson, by the way, is a good bet to win OVER 9 regular season games in 2013.   They are also a good bet to cover the spread against Georgia in this game.
