A recent spate of Denial Of Service (DOS) attacks has Bodog Poker Network President Jonas Odman defending his company’s decision to move towards an “anonymous” online poker model.

Bodog took some heat last year after unveiling the anonymous tables.

Bodog Poker Network’s President Jonas Odman commented: “This latest twist in player protection is not something anybody can have foreseen but does add weight to the argument for poker rooms to offer anonymity for ALL players. Anonymous tables are the fairest way for everybody to play poker: a recreational player is protected from those who buy player data and pros are protected from being singled out in this way. Buying player data is not something a real poker player should need to resort to anyway and the industry as a whole would be better off if other operators embraced anonymity in the way Bodog has.”

PokerStars this week suspended the account of a customer suspected of engaging in DOS attacks on a fellow player.

That individual had reportedly gone on a recent 14-game winning streak in fast-structure heads up SNG tournaments, was the benefactor of multiple disconnections of his opponents.

Both the alleged scammer’s and victim’s accounts have been frozen while PokerStars investigates.
