Minnesota Vikings 2013 Division Odds, Winning Super Bowl Pays 50-1

The Minnesota Vikings 2013 Division odds will pay close to 5-1 at BetOnline.  That’s a far cry from the 25-1 odds being offered up on the Vikings to win the NFC North heading into the regular 2012 season.

Having finished at 10-6 last year, Minnesota won’t be treated like the red headed stepchild of the NFC North.  But at near 5-1 odds they still have decent value

Oddsmakers at BetOnline have the Vikings winning 8 games with the OVER/UNDER at 7.5 with a line of -115.

The Vikings will have three top Draft prospects potentially starting in Sharrif Floyd, Xavier Rhodes and Cordarrelle Patterson.   Matt Cassel is a capable backup for starting quarterback Christian Ponder, a capable but sometimes inconsistent quarterback.

Minnesota still has some weak areas that need some working out prior to the start of the season.

Veteran punter Chris Kluwe is out and this will likely have a negative impact on special teams.  Percy Harvin is no longer in the wide receiver position. The defensive line starters were less productive in 2012 than they were the previous year.  The middle linebacker position at the time of this writing (late May) needs some serious fixings.

The Vikings odds to win the 2014 Super Bowl were at 50-1.

Xavier Worthy = Tyreek Hill 2.0?  Perhaps, and if that comes to fruition at any point in the future, the Bills only have themselves to blame.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
