Nevada Gambling Revenue Up 7 Percent in March

CARSON CITY, Nev. (Associated Press) — Three-quarters of the way through the fiscal year, gambling revenue at Nevada casinos is running nearly 3 percent ahead of last year.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board said Friday casinos statewide won more than $914 million in March, a 7 percent gain over March 2012. That pushed the fiscal year-to-date total to nearly $8.4 billion, 2.8 percent more than last year.

The Las Vegas Strip posted a 13.1 percent monthly gain over March a year ago and is now 5.7 percent ahead of 2012. Washoe County was up 9.5 percent for March, including a 10.8 percent gain in Reno.

North Lake Tahoe was up 15.4 percent, South Tahoe down 11 percent, Carson Valley down 2 percent, Wendover up 7.6 percent and the rest of Elko County up 8.9 percent.
