EPT Grand Final 2013 Winner to Get €1,224,000

The winner of this season's PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT Grand Final will be taking home a massive €1,224,000 first prize, as well as a stunning watch worth more than €5,000 from luxury Swiss brand Slyde, the Official Watch Sponsor for EPT9 Main Events. There were 531 players from 55 countries at this season's Grand Final creating a €5,310,000 prize pool. 80 places will get paid.

LAPT Sao Paolo champion Victor Sbrissa was the chip leader going in to Day 2 today. There are currently 200 players left in the field, from the 531 who started the event. The festival is running from May 6-15 and features 50 events including the €100k Super High Roller, €25k High Roller and first ever €500,000 guaranteed €1,000 Monaco Cup.

NATIONALITIES There are more Americans here at the Season 9 EPT Grand Final than any other nationality ... 70 Americans, accounting for 13% of the field. Russians are the next most numerous with 11% of the field followed by french players - 10%. There are players from 55 countries in all, including Vietnam, New Zealand, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait and Armenia. See pie chart below.

100 BILLION HANDS CELEBRATION 
Just before play started today, Lee Jones announced PokerStars' special online celebration to mark 100,000,000,000 hands dealt. Special promotions start early June with PokerStars' richest-ever ring game promotion awarding some $2,000,000 in cash including a Million Dollar Hand for the 100 billion Mega Milestone.
