Former Absolute Poker COO Paul Leggett has been maintaining a low profile ever since “Black Friday”, a day in which the US Government cracked down on AP and two other big name US-facing online poker firms.

Two years later Liggett has emerged as the new head of Amaya’s online poker venture.

Amaya recently acquired Ongame and that is the poker venture Liggett is expected to oversee, replacing outgoing COO Paul Bertilsson.

PokerFuse.com raised an interesting concern regarding Leggett’s hiring:

The future roles of both Leggett and Ongame have the potential to raise eyebrows in states such as Nevada, where recently enacted online poker legislation includes a five-year “bad actor” provision for post-UIGEA, US-facing sites. Leggett served as CEO, COO and owner for several US-facing entities from 2007 onward, including Absolute Poker, UB.com (formerly Ultimate Bet), and Tokwiro Enterprises, a shell holding company fronted by former Kahnawake Grand Chief Joseph Tokwiro Norton.

Leggett has not been named in any indictment related to online gambling.
