Over 30 players already registered for €100,000 buy-in event in Monaco

ONCHAN, ISLE OF MAN – With just under two weeks to go, the prize pool for the €100,000 Super High Roller tournament at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour Grand Final already looks set to top €3 million with over 30 players already confirmed, PokerStars revealed today.

The event, which will be the second €100,000 Super High Roller tournament to be held at the EPT Grand Final, is running from May 13-15. It forms part of an unparalleled roster of high stakes events at the 10-day festival, with a €25,500 High Roller event and two €10,300 High Roller Turbos also scheduled. The winners of the €100,000 and the €25,500 events will receive a stunning bracelet from official EPT High Roller bracelet sponsor Shamballa Jewels as part of their prize. The wide range of high roller tournaments are also complimented by plenty of high stakes cash games which – for the first time - will be run by the EPT.

EPT President Edgar Stuchly said, “Monaco really is the spiritual home of high stakes gaming, and the response we’ve had to the High Roller events has been fantastic so far. This is going to be a Grand Final to remember!”

Last year’s Super High Roller winner was Justin Bonomo, who took the title after topping a field of 38 players to take the top prize of €1,640,000. He then went on to finish 28th in the €10,000 Main Event and fourth in the €25,000 High Roller for total Grand Final winnings of nearly €2 million.

Team PokerStars Pro, Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, who came third in last year’s event, added, “Last year’s tournament was great and I’m pleased that I came third as the standard of play was incredible. To win the Super High Roller event at the EPT Grand Final would be awesome and I’m hoping this is my year.”
