Having won a mere $24,792 playing in live tournaments over the past two years, poker pro Joe Sebok has decided on a bit of a career change:  cultivating grapes.

Sebok, who has amassed just shy of $2 million in career live tournament play and is perhaps best known for representing (and often defending) now defunct online poker room UB.com, tells OnlinePoker.net:  “The game of poker is great and has been good to me over the years. But at the end of the day, if you’re not doing other stuff, all you are doing is counting money.”

Sebok joined crush winery Vinify working a 4 am to 4 pm shift crushing grapes.  The poker pro claims to have shed up some 17 pounds of weight over the three-month harvest period.

“I did typical cellar rat stuff. Basically, I came up here and got my ass kicked. It’s not like you can sit back and turn on autopilot in either case. These are challenging jobs.”

Sebok eventually plans to get into the marketing side of the business.
