After more than a year, Full Tilt Poker is back in business as of November 6, 2012 following an acquisition by one time rival PokerStars, the world’s leading real money online poker room.

Residents of the USA are prohibited from playing on the FullTiltPoker.com website at this time.

Two executives of FTP were indicted on April 15, 2011 following a lengthy investigation by US authorities into an elaborate payment processing scheme that resulted in millions of dollars being seized along with nearly a dozen arrests.  Full Tilt Poker was forced out of the US market and eventually shut down by its licensing arm, the Alderney Gambling Commission.

PokerStars entered into an arrangement with the US government to take over assets of Full Tilt Poker, including the company’s website, in exchange for returning funds of all affected players outside the United States.

"Full Tilt Poker is back and better than ever," said Sarne Lightman, Head of Marketing for Full Tilt Poker. "We are bringing back to the players everything they loved about the site and we invite them to help us celebrate by joining our 'Deal Me In' launch promotions."

"The return of Full Tilt Poker fills a hole in the community that's been felt by millions of players," said Danish poker pro and newly appointed Full Tilt Poker brand ambassador Gus Hansen.  "A lot of people have been waiting for this day to come and now that it's here we can all look towards a brighter future."

In addition to the United States, players from France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Estonia and Belgium are also prohibited from playing at Full Tilt Poker for real money.
