For previous Full Tilt Poker affiliates hopeful they might win out from the recent takeover by PokerStars, that won’t be happening.  Stars has decided it will no longer honor existing FTP affiliate agreements

Full Tilt Poker at on time was among the biggest online poker affiliates.  The company has been shut down for over a year following a US Government crackdown and subsequent license termination from the Alderney Gaming Commission.  Many affiliate partners enjoyed huge success through revenue sharing.  Affiliates earned commissions based on the number of players referred and a percentage of rake generated by that player for the lifetime of the account. The high-volume play would often result in these referred customers raking thousands of dollars a month.

PokerFuse.com has also reported that funds in player accounts that came from affiliate payments will not be reimbursed.

The Rational Group, which owns PokerStars, issued this statement:

“Other than the non-US player balances, The Rational Group did not assume any liabilities of the previous Full Tilt Poker companies ... previous contractual agreements were excluded.  Therefore, previous contractual agreements that Full Tilt Poker may have had with affiliates were excluded. As such, The Rational Group is not liable and will not pay for any affiliate earnings.”

A new affiliate program is slated to be implemented at the start of next year.
