Is it just us or are the CardPlayer.com “Player Of The Year” standings for 2012 a little “off” with poker phenom Antonio Esfandiari sitting in the number 19 spot?

The 33-year-old Esfandiari just won his third World Series of Poker bracelet and third final table of 2012, bringing his year-to-date earning to $18,661,648.

His Big One For One Drop win at this summer’s World Series of Poker alone should have been enough to top the standings for 2012.  He is now the biggest money earner in all of poker.

We’re not 100 percent sure as to how CardPlayer.com derives its rankings but Esfandiari barely cracking the top 20 this year has us scratching out heads here at Gambling911.com.  We will stop short of saying this is a travesty.  The folks appearing on their top 20 are certainly deserving of being there but….

The World Series of Poker currently rank Esfandiari as their Poker Player Of The Year.  That’s a no-brainer considering the Big One For One Drop is a WSOP event.
