Oddsmakers at Bookmaker.eu have the Minnesota Vikings 2012 Regular Season Wins Total betting OVER/UNDER set at 6 with the OVER a slight -120 favorite.  The UNDER was getting most of the action at -110, however, with nearly 76 percent of the money going in this direction.

There were more than one dozen free agent signings and 10 draft picks that should help bolster this team to the point where they can probably win more than last season’s 3 regular season games.  The running game is decent and the defensive line should still be among the top 10 in the league.  But this is a team that plays in a division capable of producing three post season prospects with Green Bay, Detroit and Chicago.

Minnesota Vikings 2012 Schedule:

Week 1: Jacksonville
Week 2: at Indianapolis
Week 3: San Francisco
Week 4: at Detroit
Week 5: Tennessee
Week 6: at Washington
Week 7: Arizona
Week 8: Tampa Bay (Thur.)
Week 9: at Seattle
Week 10: Detroit
Week 11: BYE
Week 12: at Chicago
Week 13: at Green Bay
Week 14: Chicago
Week 15: at St. Louis
Week 16: at Houston
Week 17: Green Bay

On paper, the Vikings look like they can get off to a great start vs. Jacksonville at home and Indianapolis on the road.  This might even prove a confidence builder to get them situated for more impressive victories.

Minnesota is capable of beating Arizona and Tampa Bay at home.  It’s conceivable they can take care of one division rival at home as well, quite possibly the Packers during Week 17.

Games in St. Louis, Washington and Seattle are doable as well, but only if the Vikings entered as a better than .500 team and we at Gambling911.com just don’t see it.

Sadly for Vikings fans, we see the possibility of losing one of those two early “soft” games.

The number 5 just leaps out at us, but with 6 wins conceivable, this is a no-bet

Instead check out these NFC North Division odds where both the Lions and Bears have decent value paying 3/1 and 2/1, respectively.  50 percent of the action is coming in on the Bears.  The Packers require a $16.50 bet to win $10 with the $16.50 of course refunded should Green Bay top the division (the profit is $10 in other words).
