Following news that the world’s largest “real money” online poker venture, PokerStars, will be acquiring its one time second biggest rival, revelations have surfaced regarding Stars intent and its pursuit of world domination, at least within the Internet poker universe.

From eGaming Review Magazine

PokerStars settlement with DoJ and purchase of Full Tilt Poker’s assets presents “unique and exciting opportunity” for already dominant brand to expand poker market share as “larger and stronger group”, Mark Scheinberg tells staff in an internal memo seen by eGaming Review.

The US Government officially announced the settlement agreement on Tuesday that will see PokerStars assume control of Full Tilt Poker assets as well as player accounts.  All customers of Full Tilt Poker will be paid their funds after more than a year’s long wait.

Both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker were named as part of a sweeping indictment against Web cardrooms back on April 2011.
