Manny Pacquiao beat Oscar de la Hoya Saturday night in what turned out to be a one-sided fight for the +180 underdog Pacquiao.

Oscar de la Hoya vs. Manny Pacquiao was one for the record books.  It was a fight that garnered significant betting action and may have helped propel boxing back into the spotlight that was being taken away in recent years by the UFC and Mixed Martial Arts in general.

He is currently the WBC Lightweight Champion. He was also the former WBC Super Featherweight Champion, Ring Magazine's super featherweight and featherweight champion, world champion at IBF Super Bantamweight, and WBC Flyweight divisions. He is the first Filipino and Asian boxer to win four world titles in different weight divisions. He took over as the Ring Magazine pound for pound number one ranked boxer in the world on June 9, 2008 after Floyd Mayweather, Jr. announced his retirement from boxing.

Ringside doctors decided to end the fight in the 8th round.

Oscar de la Hoya also implied he would be retiring.

Betting was especially heavy at Sportingbet.com which offered the +180 odds.
