The oddsmakers believe Orlando’s Dwight Howard is on his way to the Brooklyn Nets, prompting them to slash the Nets odds of winning in the East from 20/1 to 10/1.  Sportsbook had already moved the odds down to 9/2.

Only the Miami Heat had better odds of winning the East than the Nets while the Bulls were listed at the same price.

RJ Bell of Pregame.com tweeted Monday:

Vegas believes Howard to #Nets talk. Title odds via @LVSuperbook have moved from 20/1 to 10/1 on expectation alone.

The Nets chances of landing Dwight Howard are better than even, league sources told the New York Post on Monday.

From The Post:

In a scenario that has “a lot of moving parts,” the Nets are pushing forward, continuing to make progress in their attempts to land Orlando’s superstar center and assemble an Olympic-style team of their own in Brooklyn, sources maintained. Up to 14 players and four teams would be involved. Howard to the Nets, Brook Lopez in a sign and trade to Orlando and Kris Humphries in a similar scenario to Cleveland.

This is a fluid situation that could change rapidly.
