The championship match set for Event 6, the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em Mixed-Max goes off at 3 pm ET between Joseph Cheong and Aubin Cazalis (Monday June 4, 2012).

This World Series of Poker event will result in $480,564 for the winner and a sweet $296,956 for second place.

Cheong is certainly no stranger to WSOP success, having made the final table of the 2010 World Series of Poker, finishing 3rd and winning just over $4.1 million.

Cazals came in 2nd at the Euro Finals of Poker No Limit Hold’em DIAMOND Championship, which yielded much of his live poker earnings to date, $138,374.

Joseph Cheong defeated Hugo Lemaire in what was a one-sided match from the start. Within 15 minutes of the start, Cheong cracked Lemaire's aces with pocket threes to take a solid chip lead. He never looked back from there and closed out the match in just less than three hours.

It was a different story for Aubin Cazals. His match with Warwick Mirzikinian lasted for nearly nine-and-a-half hours. Mirzikinian had control for much of the match and had Cazals all in and at risk twice, but Cazals would not settle for a third-place finish. He fought back valiantly and earned the victory.

Originally these two players wanted to start the championship match at Noon ET, however, both agreed to bump this back three hours.
