Georgia Tech vs. Georgia college football betting odds opened at Georgia -9 ½ and had since dropped to -7 ½ everywhere including our friends at betED.com.

The Bulldogs have owned this series over the last 7 games, though covering the current spread 3 times over that period and once in the last four games, although they managed to beat Georgia Tech 31-17 the late time these two teams met.

Georgia is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 against the ACC but 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games played on grass.

The Jackets are coming off a 41-23 whipping of Miami in which they racked up 518 total yards. Most of those came via the triple-option offense.

Fortunately, the Bulldogs had an extra week to prepare for what is the dinosaur of offenses in a spread-offense happy football world. Defending Paul Johnson's scheme requires sound assignment discipline.

"We had a very good base of the entire season besides the Miami game [from which] to put the plan together and make a lot of decisions on," Richt told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "The final piece of the puzzle came with the Miami game."

Another rivalry win would help Georgia lock up a spot in the Capital One Bowl, where the Bulldogs would face Ohio State or Michigan State.

Only one of Georgia Tech's 3 losses this season were by more than the current line of 7 ½.  As we pointed out, Georgia Tech has managed to keep their losses against the Bulldogs within a touchdown in all but one of the last four games.

Gambling911.com believes Georgia Tech to be a good play on the +7 ½.
