You have gotten all the news here first at Gambling911.com regarding the June 1, 2012 launch of the new Revolution Gaming Network, featuring some of the most recognized brands on the Web.  Among those top brands:  Lock Poker, Cake Poker and Intertops, which has the distinction of being the first online gambling website on the Net.  Cake and Lock are both proud sponsors of the Gambling911.com website.

Players have begun to react.  While there will always be those who are skeptical, most of the online poker community sees this move as a definitely plus.  For example, Cake, Lock and Intertops will run more independently than the average network "skin".  Intertops, which is currently on the Cake Network, already operates in such a fashion while tapping into the whole network player pool.

Lock has already said they intend to make improvements to the current Cake Poker software once the rebranding to the Revolution Gaming Network occurs.  This is said to include an eventual Mac-compatible platform.

Some players have been critical of the current Cake software while others defend it.

One poster at the TwoPlusTwo.com forum noted:

I have played about 300-400k hands on Intertops and the software is certainly a bit jerkier than Merge and I do run into little bugs from time to time when doing things like accessing the cashier. But, in my experience, it is very playable and I usually run 8-10 tables at a time and run many other programs simultaneously.

Another wrote:

I've been playing on Intertops for a long time and have no complaints with the current software.

And yet another had this to offer:

If you have problems with lag while multitabling Cake you need a new computer. I have a 3+ old computer and have never had any problems.

All of this, of course, is moot assuming Lock begins making immediately changes to the current software.

Intertops, a current Cake skin and one of the most respected online gambling companies out there today (they were the first true online sportsbook and casino site), issued a statement Wednesday affirming their commitment to staying with the new network.

Hi

Intertops is a skin on the Cake Network and will stay a skin on the re-branded network. Intertops will continue business as usual with its stand alone cashier that today is the quickest processor.

Best regards,

The Intertops Poker Team

What to expect when Revolution Gaming kicks off June 1?

Lock Poker rep ImJustShane had this to offer:

Improved player liquidity and higher guarantees and better tournament structure.

There will be some Lock exclusive promotions just as there will be some Intertops only promotions.

There will also at some stage be bigger network wide promotions that you will be able to play in.

Gambling911.com already broke the news early Wednesday morning regarding the increased rake percentages of 36 percent (highest in the industry) network wide and Lock Poker’s new aggressive tournament schedule, including a million dollar rake chase.
